| 3. GEAR UP | Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs – a federally funded program designed to help students better prepare for college. |
| 4. Associate's Degree | Degree earned by students after completing two years of study in a specific program at a two-year or community college. |
| 5. Two-Year College | Where students earn associate's degrees – same as a community college. |
| 6. Professional Degree | Graduate degree earned by students at a university after completing many years of study in a specialized area like medicine, dentistry, law or veterinary medicine. |
